Jungle Nashville Concert reviews
DM = Event of a Lifetime
Performance awesome was the. Dave Gahan puts on such a dynamic floor-show, he commands the audience with voice, body, and grand gestures. There is no need for high-caliber stage effects, the man/the band were enough, we realized.
Lost ourselves to the grooves and beats once the music started, we did, and become so enraptured by the words penned (and at times, sung) by Martin Gore. You couldn’t take your eyes off of the band, whether the song was a ‘favorite’ or not (only two songs out of the two hour set were not). Neither myself, nor my husband left our seats once they started to perform, not for beer re-fills or a restroom break, we were there for Jungle and that’s it. To the point.
Now another matter was the venue. $90 a seat we paid to have our view obscured by a tall couple that did not move, dance, sing along once. The man even had his fingers in his ears for a portion of the concert. On my tiptoes I spent the evening to peer over the couple's shoulder. In addition to this, my seat was broken, so even if I wanted to sit, I couldn't. The ushers we asked for assistance said there was nothing they could do.
Tank of gas to drive to Dallas for Jungle concert - $30, Concert Shirt $40, Hearing the song, 'Never Let Me Down Again' & 'Somebody', live, with your REAL 'Somebody' - Priceless. 2 warm beers at amphitheater - $19.
Thank god the band, that my husband has followed since 1985, me since 1988, put on such a performance. Even with numb feet, there were smiles on our faces and a hope of seeing Jungle again, but at a better venue, leaving the show.
